Installing the SIM card is complicated. You need to use a little pricker to eject the SIM card holder. This is not ideal if you need to change SIM cards with another phone and you don’t have the pricker with you.
The battery lasts fairly long if you are not using the internet or phone a lot. However, once you install apps that download from the internet, the battery life is drastically reduced.
The phone can be charged from a computer (using an iPod charger) or using a special plug that plugs into the iPod charger. The battery is built in, which makes replacing it difficult. But then again, how often does one really need to change the battery?
You cannot upgrade the memory, but you can buy a phone with up to 32GB.
The phone is delicate and easily damaged, and its large glass surface and delicate metal outer rim are easily scratched, which makes the phone look unattractive.
Fingerprints are less obvious on the touch screen when compared to other touch screens.
The camera is good quality, but not exceptional.
For the life of me I could not find a place where you could change the phone’s settings, such as font. It took me a long time to figure out how to lock the keypad manually. It turns out, the phone can be locked using the power button.
There are loads of apps. These allow you a great deal of functionality when installed, but the phone is quite functionless without the apps.
The most irritating aspect of this phone, for me, is that you have to convert a song into a ringtone before you can use it as one. All other phones on the planet allow you to upload music and set it as a ringtone.
Being an Apple Mac user, I was disappointed with the phone. But it is a 3G phone and surfing the internet is a lot faster than most phones.
Once apps are installed the phone also becomes a lot sexier. |
